Global Internet Freedom Alliance

2026-08 We are now LeoTun (formerly RoyalShield). Your account, servers, pricing and setup are unchanged — no action needed. The name shown on payment pages and in emails is updated accordingly.
2026-08 Private network is now live: no server picking, no config changes — your devices connect directly for a faster, steadier link. We recommend it as your first choice; find it under "Private" in the top nav.
2026-09 New router firmware is out — please update. OpenVPN is back: download a profile, import it, and connect in one tap.
2026-09 Every page now ends with related guides — usage basics, common problems and fixes, and typical scenarios — to help you understand the VPN system and use it more smoothly.
2026-09 Hong Kong is back (ChatGPT and Claude are not available there — pick a Southeast Asia server if you need them). Iceland has been retired.
2026-09 Price update, bigger discounts: Family 8 USD/month, Enterprise 16 USD/month; discounts start sooner (Family from 6 months, Enterprise from 3 months). Time you've already paid for — including annual plans — is not affected.
2026-09 New Personal plan: 4 USD/month for 2 devices, routers included — everyone should have a VPN router.

Not enough device slots? Temporary vs long-term fixes

Updated 2026-09-28

One LeoTun account can be installed on any number of devices; the limit is how many are online at the same time: 2 on Personal, 4 on Family, 8 on Enterprise. When you run short, first check whether you really need more, then decide whether it's temporary or long-term. For a few extra days (visitors, a trip with extra gear), switch up a tier and back afterwards — remaining time converts at equal value, so you only pay the difference for those days. For the long run, move to a higher tier or put your home devices behind one router so they count as one.

First: do you really need more?

  • The limit is on devices online at the same time, not devices installed. Ten installed with two in use fits Personal.
  • All connection methods share one allowance: Cisco on the phone plus Hiddify on the laptop counts as two.
  • A router counts as one; the TVs, boxes and family phones behind it don't count.
  • Disconnect devices you aren't using. The private network (Tailscale) stays online after login and a router stays connected, so both keep holding a slot.
  • The green number in the status bar at the top of the site is how many devices are online; hover over it to see your tier's limit.

Case 1: a few extra days

Relatives staying over, a trip with an extra tablet and laptop, lending access to a colleague for a while — for short bursts, switching up a tier is cheapest: remaining time converts at equal value going up and converts back when you return, so you only pay the difference for the days you spent on the higher tier.

  1. Log in to the site, click your tier in the status bar and pick a higher one (Personal → Family → Enterprise). Remaining time converts by price: one tier up halves it, two tiers up quarters it.
  2. Log in on the extra devices and use them — no reinstalling or reconfiguring.
  3. When you're done, disconnect or log out the extra devices first, then switch back; remaining time converts back at the same ratio.

What a temporary upgrade costs

Tier prices are 1 : 2 : 4 (Personal $4, Family $8, Enterprise $16 a month), so remaining time converts at that ratio and nobody loses out. Example: Family with 30 days left becomes 15 days on Enterprise; after 3 days, 12 are left, which become 24 days back on Family. Compared with staying on Family (30 − 3 = 27 days) you are 3 days short — those 3 days were billed at the Enterprise rate, and that difference is all you paid.

Two limits: if you started a payment in the last 30 minutes without finishing it, switching is blocked — complete or abandon it and try again after half an hour; and when switching down, if more devices are online than the lower tier allows, the site asks you to disconnect the extras first.

Case 2: you need more for good

If your household keeps adding devices or everyone needs their own phone connected, stop switching back and forth and pick one of these.

  • Move to a higher tier: choose the tier in the payment dialog when renewing; it switches automatically after payment, converting remaining time first and then adding what you bought. You can also switch any time from the status bar without renewing.
  • Use a router: TVs, boxes, computers and family phones on the router's Wi‑Fi count as one device; add the phone you carry outside and Personal's 2 slots are often enough. Routers work on all three tiers.
  • Which one: if the extra devices are mostly at home, use a router; if family members each need access while out, go up a tier. You can also combine both.

FAQ

Do I lose time by switching up?

No. Remaining time converts at equal value by price and converts back at the same ratio; you only pay the difference for the days on the higher tier.

Can I add just one device?

There is no per-device add-on; allowances come by tier: 2 on Personal, 4 on Family, 8 on Enterprise. For a few extra devices, switch up temporarily and back afterwards.

My account has expired — can I switch to a lower tier to get more time?

No. An expired account gets no conversion when switching tiers; it stays expired.

A new device says the limit is reached. What now?

Log out or disconnect an old device you aren't using to free the slot, or switch up a tier temporarily and back afterwards.

Can you force a device offline for me?

Support can do that; if you have the device at hand, disconnecting or logging out on it is fastest.
