What to Do When iOS Cannot Install an App

The App Store has one catalogue per Apple ID region. The China store has no Hiddify or Tailscale, and Telegram and Discord come and go; Cisco Secure Client and OpenVPN Connect exist in most regions. It is a listing difference, not a problem with the app, and an account from another region can install it.

On iPhone both sing-box (Hiddify) and the private network (Tailscale) must come from the App Store, so this step cannot be skipped; Android, Windows and macOS installers are served directly by this site and are unaffected.

1. Sign out of the current App Store account: Settings → your name at the top → Media & Purchases → Sign Out. Only the App Store — not iCloud — so photos, backups and contacts are untouched.
2. In the App Store, pick any free app, tap Get, and follow the “Create New Apple ID” prompt. Choose the United States, Hong Kong, Japan or Singapore as the region and “None” as the payment method — that “None” option appears only on the “register while downloading a free app” path; registering on the web usually does not offer it.
3. Sign in to the App Store with the new account and download Hiddify, Tailscale or Telegram.
4. Afterwards you can switch back to the original account; installed apps keep working and updating. Switch again only when installing another app.

Sign in at account.apple.com and change the country or region. All subscriptions must be cancelled first, the balance spent, and some regions require a local payment method; changing back is just as tedious. Not recommended unless you intend to move regions permanently.

• Never use a shared Apple ID from a chat group or a “shared accounts” site. The account owner can remotely lock your device, and a locked iPhone can only be released by them; two-factor authentication cannot be turned off once enabled, and the risk and the dispute are yours. Our support never provides shared accounts either.
• Never install profiles or “enterprise-signed” packages of unknown origin. They are the usual way around the store — and the usual entry point for planted certificates and hijacked traffic.
